To thrive as a NestJS Developer, you need a solid background in JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful API design, and experience with Node.js frameworks, ideally supported by a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with tools like TypeORM, GraphQL, Docker, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) as well as proficiency in using Git for version control is common. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and adaptability help developers excel in collaborative, agile environments. These skills and qualifications ensure the delivery of scalable, efficient, and maintainable back-end solutions that meet modern web application standards.

What are NestJS developers?

NestJS developers are software engineers who specialize in building server-side applications using the NestJS framework. NestJS is a progressive Node.js framework for creating scalable and maintainable backend systems, leveraging TypeScript and incorporating concepts from Angular, such as dependency injection and modular architecture. These developers design APIs, handle database operations, implement authentication, and ensure the overall structure of backend services aligns with best practices. Their expertise helps teams achieve efficient, testable, and well-organized backend codebases.

What are some common challenges NestJS Developers face when working on large-scale applications?

NestJS Developers working on large-scale applications often encounter challenges related to code organization, managing dependencies, and maintaining consistent architectural patterns. As projects grow, ensuring modularity and scalability becomes essential to prevent technical debt and improve maintainability. Job description

It's not just about the tech; it's about the people. At Career TEAM, we work to accelerate the human condition. Through our Career EDGE platform, we build enterprise software that changes lives across the United States-and that's just the beginning.

As a Data Conversion Software Engineer, you'll help design, build, and maintain systems that transform and integrate data across platforms supporting government-funded workforce development programs nationwide. You'll work with modern web technologies in a collaborative, Agile environment and contribute to software that has real-world social impact.

Specifically, What You Will Do

You will build and support robust data ingestion and conversion solutions using MongoDB, Node.js, Nest.js, and Next.js. On any given day, you'll be designing, building, and maintaining pipelines that transform structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data-such as documents, PDFs, images, and flat files-into normalized, usable data models. Your work will include developing applications and RESTful services that power data ingestion, validation, and transformation, as well as implementing OCR and document-processing solutions to extract text and metadata from document-heavy datasets. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and product partners to define conversion logic, troubleshoot data quality issues, and continuously improve accuracy, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability. As part of an Agile team, you'll participate in regular Scrum ceremonies and have meaningful opportunities to innovate and make a real impact on the software we build.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficiency with JavaScript or TypeScript and backend development using Node.js
  • Experience building APIs and services using modern frameworks (e.g., Nest.js, Express)
  • Experience transforming and ingesting data into MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Experience working with document-heavy and unstructured data, including OCR or image-based text extraction
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Angular
  • Experience designing data ingestion or ETL-style pipelines
  • Understanding of RESTful services and data formats such as JSON and XML
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative communication skills

Salary: $60K - $100K
