Job Description

What you will do:

  • May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction, and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for all patient populations.
  • Understanding the testing equipment, including its structure, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Posses working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered.

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred. Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is required. Completion of department approved training program is required.
Required credentials of one or more of the followings: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT),Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (REPT), Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT), or Registered NerveConduction Study Technologists (R.NCS.T). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
