Neoload Performance Tester information

What is a Neoload Performance Tester?

A Neoload Performance Tester is a specialist who uses Neoload, a performance testing tool, to evaluate the speed, scalability, and stability of software applications under load. They design and execute tests that simulate real-world user activity to identify bottlenecks and performance issues before software is released. Their role is critical in ensuring applications can handle expected and unexpected traffic volumes, providing valuable insights and recommendations for optimization. Neoload Performance Testers often work closely with developers, QA teams, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Neoload Performance Tester?

To thrive as a Neoload Performance Tester, you need a solid understanding of performance testing concepts, scripting, and analysis, often supported by a background in computer science or a related field. Proficiency with Neoload, familiarity with monitoring tools (like Dynatrace or AppDynamics), and knowledge of protocols (HTTP, WebSockets, etc.) are essential. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set outstanding testers apart. These capabilities ensure reliable performance assessments, clear issue reporting, and successful collaboration within development and QA teams.

What are some typical challenges faced by a Neoload Performance Tester when working with complex applications?

Neoload Performance Testers often encounter challenges such as accurately simulating real-world user traffic for complex or highly dynamic web applications, dealing with frequent application updates, and troubleshooting bottlenecks revealed during test execution. Collaboration with development and operations teams is crucial to understand application architecture and resolve issues efficiently. Additionally, managing test data and ensuring test scripts remain up-to-date as applications evolve are ongoing aspects of the role.

Job description

Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer (Performance & Automation)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and technical Senior Quality Engineer (Performance & Automation) to support critical enterprise initiatives through a combination of hands-on performance engineering and advanced test automation. In this role, you will act as a shared technical contributor across multiple strategic technology programs, designing and executing robust testing solutions that minimize risk and ensure high-performance release readiness.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep mastery of test automation frameworks and performance engineering tools (specifically Tricentis Tosca and NeoLoad). You will collaborate directly with cross-functional delivery teams to analyze performance bottlenecks, expand regression automation coverage across complex enterprise applications (including SAP, Salesforce, APIs, and cloud platforms), and drive continuous testing excellence. If you excel at solving complex performance challenges and building scalable automation frameworks, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Engineering & Load Testing
• Test Design: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive performance, load, stress, scalability, endurance, and volume testing strategies.
• Framework Management: Create and maintain reusable performance test scripts and frameworks utilizing NeoLoad and enterprise standard tooling.
• Bottleneck Analysis: Analyze performance results to identify application, infrastructure, database, integration, and cloud-based performance bottlenecks.
• Readiness Evaluation: Define performance baselines, success criteria, and release readiness recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Test Automation & Continuous Testing
• Automation Development: Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using Tricentis Tosca and modern automation technologies.
• Regression Coverage: Expand test automation coverage across high-priority business workflows and regression testing cycles.
• CI/CD Integration: Contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives, optimizing automation reporting and execution speed.
Cross-Program Delivery Support
• Enterprise Collaboration: Partner with project teams to evaluate testing requirements, identify automation opportunities, and mitigate delivery risks.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex test execution, application performance, automation stability, and integration issues.
• Technical Guidance: Provide best-practice guidance related to test automation architecture, NeoLoad scripting, and performance optimization approaches.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Quality Engineering experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
• Automation Mastery: 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on test automation development experience utilizing Tricentis Tosca (or comparable enterprise automation tools).
• Performance Testing Mastery: 3+ years of hands-on performance testing, load analysis, and scripting experience using NeoLoad (or comparable performance tools like LoadRunner/JMeter).
• Technical Breadth:
oProven experience testing web applications, REST/SOAP APIs, integrations, and distributed enterprise platforms.
oExperience working within fast-paced Agile delivery models and CI/CD pipelines.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to isolate performance bottlenecks and clearly report findings.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience testing complex enterprise ecosystems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, or Salesforce Lightning.
• Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Experience operating within a shared-services or multi-project delivery model across an enterprise organization.
