Summary

The Wire Department Manager is responsible for leading a team of wire transfer specialists, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of domestic and international wire transfers, and maintaining compliance with all banking regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
  • Supervise and lead the wire transfer team, provide guidance, training and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor daily workflow, allocate tasks, and ensure the team meets processing deadlines.
  • Responsible for executing sound decisions concerning the wire department personnel and processes.
Operational Management
  • Oversee the processing of incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with bank policies.
  • Review and approve wire transfers, ensuring compliance with AML and OFAC guidelines.
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to wire transfers, working with other departments as needed.
  • Make decisions for the Wire Department.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of wire transfers and timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant banking regulations, including AML, OFAC and other compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all wire transfer activities comply with bank policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance, Risk Management and Fraud teams to address any potential concerns.
  • Partner with front line personnel to provide necessary ongoing training.
  • Assist in audits, both internal and external, related to wire transfer operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of wire transfer operations.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for wire transfer activities.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and technology advancements to improve department operations.
  • Provide exceptional external and internal customer service by addressing wire transfer inquiries and resolving customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with branches and other departments to ensure seamless communication and service delivery related to wire transfers.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of wire transfer activities, including daily reports and reconciliation documents.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics.
