Position Summary

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical construction activities on job sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines. This role serves as the primary liaison between field personnel, subcontractors, and project management, with a strong focus on planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical crews and subcontractors onsite.

  • Ensure all electrical installations are performed according to design specifications, codes, and safety standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).

  • Review electrical plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper execution.

  • Maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and report updates to the Project Manager.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve potential issues.

  • Ensure all electrical work meets quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) requirements.

  • Manage procurement and inventory of electrical materials and tools.

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and site-specific regulations.

  • Coordinate with other trades to avoid conflicts and optimize workflow.

  • Document daily job activities, progress reports, and incident reports.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree in Electrical Technology or Construction Management preferred.

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (if required by jurisdiction).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical construction, with 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.

  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and construction practices. • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.

  • Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and job site environments.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders or scaffolding as needed.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods on job sites.
