Job description

Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Material Control / Embed Inspector to support our precast concrete operations. This role is responsible for verifying incoming materials, inspecting custom embeds against shop drawings, and ensuring all materials are properly staged and ready for production and field use.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality, accuracy, and efficiency within our plant operations.
Responsibilities
Material Verification
โ€ข Compare incoming materials to Bills of Lading (BOL)
โ€ข Confirm quantities, sizes, and specifications match purchase orders and drawings
โ€ข Report discrepancies or damaged materials
Embed Inspection
โ€ข Verify custom embeds against shop drawings and specifications
โ€ข Ensure correct dimensions, placement requirements, and fabrication details
โ€ข Perform bend testing on Nelson studs to confirm quality and weld integrity
Material Handling & Staging
โ€ข Organize and stage materials for production and erection crews
โ€ข Move materials safely to designated work areas using proper equipment
โ€ข Assist with loading/unloading deliveries
Qualifications
โ€ข Experience in construction, manufacturing, precast, or a similar hands-on environment preferred
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and construction plans (strongly preferred)
โ€ข Familiarity with measuring tools (tape measure, levels, etc.)
โ€ข Experience with material handling, inventory, or quality control is a plus
