Job description

NDE Assistant Job Description:
The NDE Assistant will assist NDE Technicians with field operations and perform inspections including UT, MT, PT, and RT. The candidate should have experience in NDT, be familiar with basic NDT methods, hold a current TWIC card, and provide any previous certifications. The NDE Assistant will receive both on the job and classroom training and development to further their career as an NDE Technician.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment
  • Assist NDE Technicians in the calibration of NDT equipment
  • Assist NDE Technicians conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDE methods of inspection
  • Record results of inspections
  • Assist Technicians in performing NDT procedures and other operations
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management

Requirements
  • Complete and pass a DISA Background check
  • Complete and pass a Urine/Alcohol Drug Screen
  • Complete and pass site specific safety council

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
  • Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs
