ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking experienced Lead Opticians and Optical Supervisors for temporary and contract assignments. These roles are ideal for senior opticians who want top-tier pay, leadership-level work, and the flexibility of contract-based assignments at premium optical locations nationwide.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversee daily optical dispensary operations including staff workflow and patient flow
  • Dispense complex prescriptions including progressives, specialty lenses, and contact lenses
  • Train and mentor junior opticians, assistants, and optical technicians
  • Manage inventory, frame purchasing, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with state optical regulations and licensing requirements
  • Drive optical sales performance while maintaining excellent patient care
  • Troubleshoot remakes, patient complaints, and fitting issues

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • ABO Certified required; NCLE certification and/or state licensure strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a dispensing optician, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
  • Experience in retail optical chains, big box optical centres, or high-volume private practices
  • Strong knowledge of current lens technology, frame lines, and optical lab processes
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage optical dispensary operations
