Description
We are looking for an Optician to join our team. As an Optician you will sell, fit and dispense eyewear to patients. Our Opticians help customers look and see their best working with the latest Eyewear Fashion Trends!
Schedule:

What you will be doing
  • Remain current with eyewear trends.
  • Evaluate customer’s prescriptions and visual requirements.
  • Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit client needs.
  • Measure clients bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.
  • Selling goods such as contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses, and other goods related to eyes in general.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
  • Heat and shape plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients
  • Show customers how to insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.
  • Determine customer’s current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzers and customer’s eyeglasses.
  • Order and purchase frames and lenses.

What you know
Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

Desired
  • 2 years recent retail office experience (Optical Retail preferred)
  • ABO/NCLE Certified
  • Graduate of Optical Studies Program
  • Familiarity with Ophthalmology and Optometry practice
