The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Systems Administrator, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the IT Technology Development division within the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA.

  • Administer, manage, and maintain Windows servers 2016 and 2019

  • Responsible for Windows Server patching in an operational environment

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Domain controllers, Active Directory, DNS servers, DHCP and Group Policy Object

  • Create, manage, and maintain accounts and groups in Active Directory, LDAP

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting

  • Monitors system environments and resources

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and documents problems with business applications and hardware on all enclaves

  • Experience deploying DISA STIGs controls and system compliance

  • Oversees system recovery mechanisms

  • Exhibit the capability to resolve issues independently

  • Coordinate, communicate, escalate required changes, and major issues

  • Help diagnose and resolve computer-related problems as requested by employees and contractors, either in person or by using remote control software

  • Respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support

  • Accurately documents all work in ServiceNow

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. Our Systems Administration must have:

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance

  • Required Experience: 5+ years of experience with systems administration.

  • Well-rounded general computer system, network administration, and user support experience is necessary

  • Experience in mobile device management support and solutions

  • Experience with the NGEN IT infrastructure and enterprise class networks

  • Ability to administer user accounts and device associations in Active Directory

  • Must have prior experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple types of business and end user-specific application software in a large government installation

  • Familiarity with a variety of technical support applications, concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Required Certifications: Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP or CCNA Security

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Science or Technical discipline.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
