Job description

Apave America is currently seeking full-time experienced Industrial Insulators for a client site located in the Catlettsburg, KY area!

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Install, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, including piping, ductwork, and other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and valves, to help control noise and maintain temperatures in accordance with applicable insulation specifications.
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested by the customer.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
  • Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Assist other crafts when not actively working on insulation projects.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Have all required tools.
  • Maintain reliable transportation.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • NCCER/NCCER Plus certifications in Industrial Insulation are not required but will be considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
  • Pre-employment background checks will be required.

Work Conditions:
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in diverse industrial environments with varying climate conditions.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, client personnel, and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Work from various heights and/or confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection (PPE).

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing 75 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines.
  • Perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and full body movement, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping.
  • Work extended hours and stand for long periods.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments under extreme heat and/or cold.
  • Work in and near industrial hazards.
  • Maintain consistent activity throughout the shift.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech, hearing, and vision (close and distance), with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively and perform inspections.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and mobility, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine in-field or office duties and travel to off-site locations.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection (PPE).
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
