Job description

ABOUT US
The North Carolina Courage, a member of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), is seeking a Part-Time Mascot to join our team. We hire people who help us work smarter, sharper, and more Courageous. The Club is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to embody the spirit of Roary, the official mascot of the NC Courage women's soccer team, in a part-time backup role. As Roary, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the fan experience during both game days and community events. This person will also support Roary as a handler during appearances and events as needed, including all home games.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend scheduled NC Courage home games as mascot handler and selected community events as Roary.
  • Engage with fans of all ages, creating memorable experiences through interactions, photo opportunities, and entertainment.
  • Maintain Roary's character integrity and adhere to all established guidelines and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with the events team to plan appearances and ensure seamless execution of mascot activities.
  • Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including: - Body Language/Mannerisms - Attitude - Fan interaction - Team representation
  • Represent NC Courage with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
  • Perform backup mascot duties on a part-time basis

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to fit in the costume. Costume has fit those who are, 5' - 5'5"
  • Must be outgoing, energetic, and comfortable engaging with large crowds.
  • Prior experience as a mascot performer or in a related entertainment role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to attend games and events in Raleigh, NC, and surrounding areas.
  • Must be able to withstand wearing a mascot costume for extended periods and perform physical activities while in costume, including both at indoor and outdoor events.
  • A genuine passion for soccer and creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages.
