Working as part of a systems-engineering team and under the direction of a senior systems engineer, this individual will help multidisciplinary teams apply systems-engineering principles, develop a coherent system design, and capture that design in an integrated system model.The position requires someone who can engage effectively with engineers, software developers, analysts, operators, and government stakeholders; contribute to structured technical discussions; and clearly represent the resulting design and technical baseline.The ideal candidate has approximately five years of relevant experience and a practical understanding of systems engineering, system architecture, and model-based engineering.Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annually, based upon an individual's level of experience, skillset, and education. The range that is given is an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. Remote employees may be required to travel to Patuxent River for technical working sessions, demonstrations, and program reviews.The Description:Support the application of systems-engineering principles throughout technology development.Work with senior systems engineers to plan and facilitate collaborative design activities.Help multidisciplinary teams define system context, behavior, functions, architecture, interfaces, and requirements.Contribute systems-level questions and analysis that connect decisions across engineering disciplines.Help clarify technical objectives, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and design decisions.Identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, and unresolved dependencies for consideration by the systems-engineering team and technical stakeholders.Capture the team's technical design and supporting rationale in an integrated system model.Develop and maintain SysML models using Cameo Systems Modeler.Represent operational context, system behavior, functional responsibilities, logical and physical structure, interfaces, requirements, and traceability.Maintain consistency among the system model, technical discussions, analyses, and program decisions.Apply established program modeling methods, patterns, conventions, and quality standards.Coordinate with systems engineers, technical leads, and subject-matter experts to ensure the model accurately represents the evolving design.Prepare models, diagrams, analyses, and other engineering artifacts for technical working sessions and reviews.Communicate system concepts clearly to technical and program stakeholders.Incorporate technical direction and review feedback into the system model and supporting artifacts.Education & Experience:Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.Bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience in relevant systems-engineering, system-architecture, design, integration, or technical-development experience.Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering or system-design activities.Working knowledge of systems-engineering principles and practices.Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and SysML.Strong communication, collaboration, and technical-synthesis skills.Ability to reason across system context, behavior, structure, interfaces, requirements, and design constraints.Ability to work effectively within systems-engineering team and with technical specialists from multiple disciplines.
