Job description

The Information Technology Associate (Junior) provides foundational technical support for Navy information systems, networks, and end-user environments. This role assists in maintaining system functionality, supporting users, and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards. The position operates within a structured team environment and contributes to daily IT operations supporting mission-critical Navy systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Support & Maintenance
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Support routine system updates, patches, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor system performance and report irregularities or issues
Technical Troubleshooting & User Support
  • Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Provide technical assistance to users, including account support and system access troubleshooting
  • Support onboarding/offboarding activities, including account provisioning and device setup
Network & Infrastructure Support
  • Assist with basic network configuration and connectivity support
  • Support maintenance of network devices and assist in troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Monitor system and network health under guidance from senior staff
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, issues, and resolutions
  • Ensure all activities comply with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies
  • Assist with maintaining audit-ready documentation and records
Security & Data Protection
  • Follow established procedures to ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data

Requirements
