Job description

Empower Connection Through Communication in Enchanting San Antonio - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
What if your next step in your career could transform lives through the power of speech and language? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant heart of San Antonio, you will do much more than treat communication and swallowing disorders; you will unlock potentials, restore confidence, and foster connections-whether through encouraging a toddler's first words or assisting seniors in regaining their independence.
This position offers a rare chance to impact a diverse range of individuals from all walks of life. Here, you will work in a unique environment that seamlessly blends outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will discover fulfillment and flexibility in your role.
Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of all ages using standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that address both immediate needs and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Administer focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive strategies for care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to support ongoing progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless care continuum during the patient's journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field through continual education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based interventions applicable to all age groups, with a thorough comprehension of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Adept at adapting therapy techniques to cater to a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record-keeping and documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary, commensurate with your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance and diverse caseloads.
  • Chances to pursue specialties in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
  • Continuing education reimbursement to foster professional growth.
  • A collaborative team environment prioritizing quality care and ongoing learning.

A Career that Inspires Connection - and Fulfillment
In this inspiring role, you will do more than offer speech therapy - you will become an integral part of a community mission that restores voices, fortifies communication pathways, and brings about joy through the art of understanding.
You will partner with fellow clinicians who treat one another like family, in a work culture that cherishes collaboration and shared success. Each patient's journey has a narrative; we trust you to help define it.
Why San Antonio is the Place for You
San Antonio offers an experience enriched with vibrant culture and welcoming charm, where historical significance meets modern innovation. Known for its rich Spanish heritage, stunning landmarks like the Alamo, and vibrant arts scene, it's a colorful tapestry woven from tradition and creativity. Life here moves to a lively rhythm, inviting you to be part of both exciting urban experiences and serene natural retreats.
Families often gather at the scenic parks for music festivals and food gatherings, while nature enthusiasts find joy in the lush greenery of the nearby parks and riverwalks. The culinary landscape here is extraordinary, offering an enticing blend of authentic Tex-Mex flavors and international cuisine from upscale restaurants to food trucks.
The artistic pulse of the city is palpable, showcased through local festivals, bustling art districts, and vibrant community events. With no state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and a thriving healthcare field, this area supports personal and professional growth - benefits that extend beyond just a job.
Whether you are embarking on your career journey fresh out of school or are an experienced clinician seeking new horizons, San Antonio is a place where your ambitions can flourish.
Who We Invite to Join Our Team
We seek a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not just by achievements but also by compassion. Someone who sees a timid child and envisions their vibrant self-expression, who listens to a stroke survivor's hesitant speech and hears their determination to overcome.
You may be a pediatric expert looking to branch into adult services - or a clinician specializing in neuro rehabilitation eager to explore pediatric interventions.
If your heart is set on serving others and leading with expertise, we would love to welcome you into our community.
Let's Communicate Effectively - Together
If you believe speech is more than mere phonetics and therapy transcends tasks - if you value building relationships before setting goals, and cherish laughter alongside language - then this could be the next important chapter in your professional journey.
Join us in a community that celebrates communication, connection, and the courage to start anew. Apply now to lend your voice to our team - and help others discover theirs.
