Overview

The Senior Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of moderately complex IT projects by ensuring every aspect, from requirements gathering to implementation. Senior Delivery Managers not only plan and facilitate efforts to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in scope, but also align these efforts with strategic business priorities. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in alignment with IT objectives, creating and executing comprehensive project plans, and coordinating cross-functional resources. Additionally, the Senior Delivery Manager evaluates trade-offs between project size, complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value, and leads cross-functional meetings to resolve issues. This role requires deep technical knowledge and the ability to engage subject matter experts when necessary. Senior Delivery Managers provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and are expected to influence continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple medium to large-sized projects/initiatives that are moderately complex in nature
  • Guide and direct the development of project plans and schedules to deliver expected project outcomes on time, within budget, and within scope to meet IT, department, and/or stakeholder business needs
  • Support evaluation of projects/initiatives to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy
  • Track and report progress of multiple initiatives/projects to IT leaders, departments, and/or key stakeholders
  • Develop project dashboards to monitor and oversee multiple IT projects/initiatives
  • Identify project inter and intra dependencies, issues, and risks and ensure plans are in place to mitigate where necessary
  • Address escalated project issues of high visibility
  • Identify and coordinate resource needs for projects and escalate as appropriate
  • Provide direction on how to define project success criteria with stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment of project teams and key stakeholders on project goals and objectives
  • Coach, mentor, and train delivery managers and/or project teams on IT best practices and standards
  • Apply project and service management concepts, practices, and methodologies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Typically, 5+ years' experience in project management, including at least 3 years managing projects and delivery.
  • Strong experience with project management tools, software delivery, and an understanding of technology concepts.
  • Native-level proficiency/fluent in English.
  • Experience in DevOps and Agile technology environments.
