GENERAL STATEMENT
OF JOB:
The Dutchess BOCES Adult Learning Institute is looking for dynamic instructors to teach English Language Learners in a welcoming, supportive, and educational setting.
The focus of this course is to improve students' English speaking, writing and communication skills as it pertains to the community around them and the workforce.
Classes run year-round on an open enrollment schedule. Available positions include low, intermediate, and high level general ESOL instruction, as well as contextualized ESOL classes linked to career certifications. We are looking searching for ESOL instructors to work with the evening Culinary program and the daytime Home Health Aide program.

SUPERVISES: N/A
QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND
COMPETENCIES:
• Bachelor's degree preferred. K-12 Permanent Certification recommended but not required. Candidates that are not NY State certified must be willing to apply for Adult Education Certification and achieve completion within 6 months of employment. Dutchess BOCES will assist with this process.
• Experience working with adults of varied backgrounds required.
• Previous teaching of adults and/or non-native English speakers is desired.

AND ABILITIES
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Class runs 3-4 hours per day over 2 to 4 days per week, depending on the location. This class is open entry and serves a multi-level student population. Students are 18 years of age and older.
EVALUATION: Program Coordinator
SALARY: $25-30 per hour, depending on class assignment
