Job description

Job objective: Operates a set of Muratec Link spinning and winding frames, repairs end breaks, creels, roving, doffs spinning frames and pieces up ends, repairs stopped units at winder, performs scheduled cleaning duties
Shift: 2nd shift and 3rd shift
Essential Job Functions
  • Safely operates spinning frames and winders
  • Patrols with buggy on each side of frame for ends down and roving run outs
  • Repair front breaks, back breaks, and roll laps
  • Creel roving in frame
  • Patrol winder for indicator lights and stopped units, belts, doffer, and splicer
  • Place empty cones at winding
  • Perform required cleaning
  • Remove pnuemafil waste
  • Follow safety rules prescribed by plant
  • Must be able to work safely around moving parts
  • Must be able to lift 8 lbs repeatedly to heights above head
  • Must be able to push roving box weighing up to 377 lbs
  • Must be able to use a step stool
  • Must be able to read basic written instructions
  • Must be able to write legibly
  • Must be able to distinguish colors in stock-in-process and waste
  • Must be able to wear ear plugs, respirator/dust mask, goggles/eye protection, and other protective pieces of equipment
  • Must pay normal attention to job duties required to maintain efficiency and quality
  • Must be able to meet Plant schedules and attendance requirements as specified in Company Policies

Critical Skills/Expertise: Ability to repair ends and replace roving, troubleshoot unit stops at winder, Proper lifting/handling techniques, safe operation while pushing boxes, recognition of proper stock being fed through spinning frames, ability to perform job safely and efficiently and meet company requirements for quality and production
Non-Essential Function: Additional cleaning duties as assigned by Resource Manager
