Job description

Go Big. Commercial Solar Installer Wanted.
Austin, TX | Full-Time | Hourly Non-Exempt
Residential rooftops are one thing. This is something else entirely.
Freedom Power was born when Freedom Solar and Freedom HVAC joined forces to become Texas's complete whole-house energy company. On the commercial side, we're installing 10kW to 1MW solar systems on businesses, campuses, and facilities that power real communities. We call it Energy Empowerment - and as a Commercial Solar Installer, you're the crew member who makes it happen at scale.
If you've got construction, electrical, or solar experience and you're ready to level up to commercial work, this is your shot. You'll join a tight crew tackling large-scale installations across Texas - the kind of projects that turn heads, move fast, and demand your best every single day. Hard workers who take pride in their craft and show up as team players thrive here. If that's you, we want to talk.
Competitive pay with performance bonuses on top.
What You'll Do
  • Work as part of a crew on commercial solar installations ranging from 10kW to 1MW - no small stuff here.
  • Execute quality workmanship safely and on-schedule for every work assignment.
  • Uphold safety, quality, and attitude standards in accordance with all company policies - non-negotiable.
  • Be willing to travel in-state for commercial project assignments.
  • Represent and perpetuate the mission, goals, and values of Freedom Solar Power on every job site.
  • Support the crew and assist with other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
  • 0-4 years of experience in commercial solar installation, electrical work, or construction
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for in-state commercial projects
  • Valid Apprentice Electrician license preferred; electrical code knowledge strongly desired
  • Familiarity with commercial solar mechanical and electrical principles
  • Strong work history with demonstrated career progression
  • Flexible, hard-working, and a true team player - you do what it takes to get the job done
  • Great communicator who takes pride in their work and enjoys being challenged

The Physical Side
  • Able to lift, bend, squat, and haul 50+ lbs routinely throughout the day
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and across large commercial job sites
  • Ready to work in Texas heat and all outdoor conditions - hot climates are part of the job
  • Willing to travel in-state as commercial projects require

What's In It For You
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 100% Company-Sponsored Short-Term Disability
  • 401(k) Employer Matching
  • Weekly Pay Dates
  • 3 Weeks PTO + 3 Sick Days
  • 12 Paid Holidays + 1 Floating Holiday
  • OSHA 10 training provided
  • Upward mobility opportunities

One More Thing
