WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The National Practice Leader, Personal Lines is a strategic leader responsible for driving a unified go-to-market strategy and advancing Relation Insurance's Personal Lines business across all regions. The individual in this role leads the development and execution of a national strategy focused on operational consistency, profitable growth, and exceptional client experience. The National Practice Leader accelerates the growth and integration of the personal lines portfolio by standardizing workflows, technology usage, and servicing models. The National Practice Leader operates as a Center of Excellence for the company, overseeing success of the practice through a matrixed operating model. This Leader will oversee a $70M+ book of business.
A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY
  • Develops a national strategy that drives consistency, efficiency, and service quality across Relation's Personal Lines business by standardizing workflows, optimizing processes, and embedding best practices in service delivery.
  • Champions the development and execution of a Personal Lines technology roadmap, including the adoption of key platforms, automation, and analytics to enhance productivity and client experience.
  • Serves as a strategic liaison to key national and regional Personal Lines carriers alongside broking, including enhanced underwriting appetite, economic terms, and service agreements.
  • Creates training, enablement tools, and performance frameworks that develop talent, support execution, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance indicators for the Personal Lines practice, deliver regular reporting to executive leadership and Regional Presidents, and recommend strategic course corrections as needed.
  • Builds and activates a scalable Personal Lines growth environment by establishing the processes, connectivity, and cultural expectations that enable consistent and repeatable cross-sell success across regions.
  • Aligns and activates Personal Lines sales efforts by creating seamless referral pathways between commercial producers and Personal Lines specialists, reducing friction and accelerating client engagement.
  • Drives the hiring initiatives of high-performing Personal Lines producers who are successful in their own right, viewed as credible partners by commercial producers, and motivated to grow their books through cross-sell and integrated client strategies.
  • Relentlessly communicates and champions Relation's 'help customers succeed financially' strategy to reinforce the value of Personal Lines referrals and embed cross-sell expectations into daily producer behavior.
  • Partners with executive and regional leadership to design and influence incentive structures that motivate commercial producers to actively identify, refer, and collaborate on Personal Lines opportunities.
  • Acts as Relation's primary voice for Personal Lines carriers and market partners.
  • Takes an active leadership role in staffing, training, and performance management of the Personal Lines practice, with the mandate to drive hiring decisions, talent development, accountability, and performance outcomes across regions.
  • Leads and supports recruiting efforts for Personal Lines producers and specialists, partnering with Regional leadership and Talent teams to attract, assess, and secure top talent aligned with national and regional growth objectives.
  • Collaborates with Regional leadership on Personal Lines producer budgeting and deployment to ensure talent investments align with national strategy and regional market opportunities.
  • Provides strategic direction and functional oversight via a dotted-line relationships link each Personal Lines Director.
  • Fully adopts innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, into the service process to deliver a best-in-class client service experience.
  • Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Four year degree preferred.
  • A Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained. Advanced professional designation desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC, CPCU, CEBS, GBA, RHU, REBC).
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the insurance industry with in-depth understanding of advanced Personal lines of coverage is required.
  • Familiarity with agency management systems (e.g., EPIC, AMS360), analytics tools highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' Senior Leadership experience with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing national strategies and driving operational consistency.
  • Strong relationships with carriers and market partners.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and others.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word). Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2-year timeframe.
  • Strong ability to listen, discern, prioritize, and negotiate with clients and insurance carrier representatives based on a deep understanding of relevant issues.
  • Ability to function effectively under tight time constraints, consistently meet strict deadlines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to travel and a reliable source of transportation.
