Responsibilities

Fed Cattle Scheduler responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This position is responsible for managing the flow of cattle from fed cattle suppliers to our Liberal, KS and Dodge City, KS and Tama, IA processing plants. 

  • Communicate shipment schedules accurately and timely to suppliers while monitoring actual cattle deliveries
  • Work closely with field buyers, fed cattle suppliers, National Carriers Livestock Transportation as well as outside livestock carriers to ensure adequate quantities of cattle are delivered to each processing facility as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Fed Cattle Scheduler position should possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to effectively organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work in stressful circumstances handling various types of personalities and levels of authority

  • Reasoning and problem solving ability

  • Ability to visualize geographic locations and the flow of transportation

  • Ability to interact with several areas of the company

  • High energy level with a strong sense of urgency

  • Willing to work in a team oriented atmosphere

  • Strong work ethic and able to work an early morning schedule

  • Focus on the bottom line of the company

  • Strong personal value system

Must Have:         

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong work ethic
  • Desire to progress in the beef industry                                 

Nice to Have:      

  • Knowledge of beef production
  • Knowledge of cattle feeding processes
  • Degree in Animal or Meat Science with emphasis on cattle or beef production

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
