General Summary of Duties:ย 

The Senior Manager,ย Artist Sustainability, Lifetime Support for Artistsย managesย resourcesย thatย encompass artist funding, incubation and presentation of work, and artist sustainability programs.ย In particular, the Senior Manager,ย Artist Sustainabilityย collaborates with theย Lifetimeย Support team toย ideate, build, andย oversee the day-to-day operations of alumni resourcesย focused on artist sustainability.ย Within the Lifetimeย Supportย suite of artist services, artist sustainabilityย includesย the lifeย cycleย of an artist across emerging, advancing, and sustaining career stagesย paying specific attention toย skills for professionalization and/or career developmentย across all artistic disciplines,ย mentorship support systems, financial literacy,ย artist wellness, and artist community development. This positionย is responsible forย implementation of strategicย objectivesย and organizational initiatives as set forth by the Senior Director, Lifetime Support for Artists, ensuring operational efficiency and coherence within programsโ€™ย overall resource architecture.ย Theย Senior Manager,ย Artist Sustainabilityย supports the Senior Director, Lifetime Support for Artists in providing leadership for the team and helping build the communityย ofย YoungArts alumni, external partners,ย donors, andย artsย thought-leadersย working in the artist services space.ย 

Direct Reporting:ย 

Theย Senior Manager,ย Artistย Sustainabilityย reports to the Senior Director, Lifetime Support for Artists.ย 

Essential and Other Responsibilitiesย (perform other duties as assigned):ย 

  • Collaborate with Senior Director, Lifetime Support for Artists to execute and document strategy for internal operational excellence of theย artist sustainabilityย portfolio, including the management of cross-team collaboration and project management infrastructures that will support growth and transformation of existingย and developingย programs.ย ย ย 
  • Collaborate withย theย Lifetime Support team to develop and document new planning processes, language, timelines, and pathways to communicate opportunities available to the artist communityย related to artist sustainability portfolio.ย 

  • Collaborate in theย ideation, building, andย managingย of alumni programs includingย professionalization and/or career developmentย programs, mentorship support systems, financial literacy programs, artist wellness programs, and artist community development.ย 

  • Collaborate withย theย Advancementย teamย toย facilitateย professionalย opportunitiesย within Advancement events.ย ย 

  • In coordination with team membersย and People Operations, execute invoices and contracts for the Lifetime Support for Artists team.ย ย ย 

  • Support the transformation ofย theย programsโ€™ data collection methods and tools to track, learn about, andย connectย all artists in the community.ย ย 

  • Partnerย withย theย Senior Director, Integrated Advancement to aggregate, analyze, andย reportย programmatic activity for all stakeholders.ย ย 

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with local and national arts service organizations, arts institutions, and independent artistsย to support the growth ofย artist sustainability programs.ย 

  • Provideย clear communication, guidelines,ย goal setting, and evaluation forย all contractors whoย participateย inย artist sustainability programs.ย ย 

  • Contribute to the annual development of the budget and revenue strategy.ย ย 

  • Identifyย innovative waysย that YoungArts can expand and adapt its programming, ensuring thatย cutting edgeย approaches areย utilizedย for greater reach and impact.ย ย ย ย 

  • Develop and steward relationships with award winners, artists, and cultural organizations to support programmatic growth.ย ย 

  • Represent YoungArts in national convenings and contribute thought leadership to the field.ย ย ย ย

  • Evidence of knowledge, experience, and leadership in producing events across multiple artistic practices.ย ย 

  • Experience in developing programsย appropriate toย artistsโ€™ development and individualized goals for success.ย ย 

  • Evidence of strong leadership skills, including decisiveness, emotional intelligence, prioritization, negotiation, and equanimity in a fast-paced environment.ย ย ย ย 

  • Evidence of experience inย utilizingย program management software includingย but not limited toย Excel, Submittable,ย AirTable, and Salesforce.ย ย ย 

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.ย ย ย ย 

  • Experience with budget development and management.ย ย ย ย 

  • Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours for programs and events.ย ย ย 

Education and/or Credentialing Requirements:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or the equivalent in education and experienceย ย ย 

  • 5+ years of progressive experience managing high-performing teams and evidence of responsibility growth in the arts and culture fieldย ย ย 

  • Experience beyond requirement will be considered in lieu of education requirementย ย ย 

Working conditions, typicalย physical/mentalย demands:ย ย 

YoungArts physicalย campusย and headquarters are in Miami, FL and New York, NY. Work is performed in a hybrid (virtual and in-office) or remote setting, and/or in an event/venue setting.ย 

General working hours are 9:00 amโ€“5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The nature of our work will sometimes require an adjustment to this schedule, including evenings and weekends.ย Teamย membersย will normally be advised in advance shouldย theย work scheduleย needย adjusting.ย ย ย 

Travel will beย required.ย ย ย 

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000
