  • Responsible for coordination, implementation, and maintenance of QA Program.
  • Supervise daily QC Technician Activities.
  • Responsible for identifying quality and food safety issues & verify they have been corrected.
Job Description
  • Conduct internal, 3rd party and customer audits to ensure compliance to all Federal, State, County, City Regulations, Customer Requirements, SQF code and Nasoya Food Standards such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), Pest Control, Glass Avoidance, SSOP/HACCP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure/Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and general facility condition.
  • Conduct end-product safety and quality analysis.
  • Maintain an accurate set of documents/records.
  • Conduct Hold and Release of products.
  • Verify HACCP Critical Control Point (CCPs) monitoring records.
  • Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies and effectively communicating when there are deviations from standards or processes.
  • Develop documents and implement training, programs, and procedures to ensure that customer, company, and regulatory specifications are met. Trainings include includes but not limit to product quality standards, GMP's, Food Safety Issues, and HACCP.
  • Assist coordinating investigation on all NCR issued and Customer and Consumer Complaints and ensure they are followed through.
  • Ensure all equipment calibrations are current.
  • Assist with ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Food Quality and Food Safety system knowledge and experience and familiarity with food regulatory compliance required.
  • Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, (Bio-)Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Agricultural Science preferred.
  • USDA experience preferred.
  • Required certificates: PCQI, SQF & HACCP certified will be a plus.
  • Understanding/knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, and biological chemistry.
  • Understanding/knowledge of FDA and USDA food regulation.
  • Proficient with computers, MS office and strong communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities with the ability to coach and mentor others in this capacity.
  • Good communication skills, Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is preferred
