Job description

Overview


We have an exciting opportunity to help expand an already established program with AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) Oncology & Hematology in New Smyrna Beach. This location has been serving the community since 2023 and is part of our larger oncology services that have been a trusted presence in Central Florida for over 20 years. The practice is looking for a team-oriented, fellowship-trained hematologist oncologist to join our group and support continued growth in the region.

  • This opportunity would provide inpatient and outpatient services seeing a variety of hematology and oncology patients at AdventHealth New Smyrna
  • There would also be time spent in our newly renovated outpatient clinic in Oviedo, Florida.
  • The practice consists of four physicians and multiple APPs
  • Infusion, Radiation and Surgical services available at AdventHealth New Smyrna and surrounding hospitals
  • Access to multi-disciplinary clinics, research, clinical trials, (including Phase 1) and tumor boards (daily) 
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with practice building in a new market and seeing a variety of hem malignancies and solid tumor patients. 
  • Lab and infusion onsite
  • Shared office space with Radiation Oncology for ease of treatments
  • Rotation of call would be shared with the other physicians in the practice including weekends
  • Practice will have support of nurse navigators, social workers, chaplain support, pharmacy, nutrition etc.. 
  • Extended network of 7 other medical oncology sites in and surrounding Orlando
  • AdventHealth was ranked by US News & World among the top 50 in the nation for six medical specialties: CANCER; diabetes and endocrinology; gastroenterology and GI surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; obstetrics and gynecology; and orthopedics.

Requirements of the position include:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification/eligibility in Hematology and or Medical Oncology
  • Experience with practice building in a new market is preferred
