They play a variety of instruments and may be part of bands, ensembles, or orchestras. In addition to performing, Navy Musicians represent the Navy to the public, boost morale, and support recruiting and ceremonial activities. Navy Musicians often encounter the challenge of adapting their performances to a variety of environments, such as ship decks, hangars, or outdoor venues in foreign countries, which may have limited space, acoustics, or resources.
