Unarmed Special Police Officer

Unarmed Security Officer for the European Union

Full Time and Part Time positions Available

Objective

This position is responsible for protecting, safeguarding, and securing assets, personnel, customers, and visitors.

Essential Functions

Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary.

Job Duties

Performs security patrols.

Enforces access control procedures.

Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents.

Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations.

Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures.

May perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Proficient in English
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must be fully capable of performing duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion and must be fully capable of self-defense, tactical exercises and weaponless defense.
  • Shall be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) in order to draft reports, prepare presentations, etc.
  • District of Columbia certification as an unarmed special police officer.

Additional Qualifications:

The applicant is required to submit to pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.

The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).
