Job description

Brown Technologies is currently seeking a highly skilled Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Solution Design Engineer to support NASA’s Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI) through full lifecycle systems engineering, project management, and solution design in accordance with NASA’s IT Project Management policies. This engineer will design, develop, architect, and configure the Enterprise MAS platform across development, test, stage, and production environments. The role requires exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-organizational leadership, technical teams, vendors, center stakeholders, and IT personnel. This individual will document and review system designs in alignment with NASA engineering practices and participate in formal reviews as designated by the NASA Technical Point Of Contact (TPOC). This role requires 8+ years of hands-on Maximo/Maximo Application Suite (MAS) experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the primary functional POC for Maximo Application Suite (MAS) user support,

business process optimization, and configuration management.


• Serve as liaison between business stakeholders, field users, IT teams, and vendors to

ensure MAS solutions align with operational and maintenance needs.


• Monitor and resolve system issues, data inconsistencies, and user access challenges.


• Analyze existing workflows, data collection forms, and business processes across key

Maximo modules (Work Orders, PM/CM, Asset Management).


• Identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and standardization.


• Maintain system configurations, lookup tables, and workflow logic.


• Support migration of manual or paper-based workflows to modern, mobile-enabled

solutions integrated with Maximo Application Suite.


• Gather requirements directly from NASA customers, field personnel, maintenance staff,

and business leaders.


• Translate requirements into business requirements documents, user stories, process maps,

and configuration specifications.


• Collaborate with developers, architects, and integration teams to ensure enhancements

meet operational needs.


• Review and resolve center-specific configuration differences with focus on standardizing

application structure and configurations across the Enterprise.

• Lead standardization of business and technical requirements across NASA centers.


• Implement standardized release management, including version control, testing, and

controlled promotion of changes across environments.


• Participate in system testing, user validation, and change-management activities for

project rollouts and updates.


• Partner with IT support and vendor resources to resolve system performance or technical

escalations.


• Provide engineering support for the RedHat OpenShift-based MAS container platform.


• Manage system requirements and provide hardware/software updates for evolving

workloads.


• Analyze requirement sets to ensure compliance with reliability, maintainability, and

availability standards.


• Install, integrate, validate, and document MAS components, services, and system

software into a fully operational system.


• Ensure alignment with NASA’s infrastructure, functional, and interface design

requirements.


• Conduct system verification testing and support customer acceptance of delivered

solutions.


• Coordinate with NASA customers, center operations, maintenance, and IT stakeholders

to gather interface requirements and communicate progress.




• Understand hybrid integration between on-premise and cloud systems; determine middleware/API gateway needs.


• Troubleshoot enterprise data discrepancies and integration-related issues.


• Build, test, maintain, and manage API integrations between enterprise systems.


• Ensure data integrity and reliable data flow across systems from requirements through production deployment.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• 8+ years of demonstrated Maximo/MAS experience involving configuration, solution design, and workflow optimization.

• Strong experience gathering, documenting, and translating functional requirements into technical specifications.

• Experience administering and configuring Maximo/MAS modules (Work Orders, PM/CM, Asset Management).

• Experience with mobile‑enabled Maximo workflows and modernization initiatives.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional IT, engineering, operational, and vendor teams.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with ability to resolve integration, workflow, and data issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting NASA or federal Maximo deployments.

• Experience performing project management and systems engineering aligned with NPR 7120.7A.

• Experience with RedHat OpenShift or containerized MAS environments.

• Familiarity with Maximo Mobile and related configuration tools.

• Experience with system integration, API management, or middleware solutions.

• Experience with multi‑center standardization efforts.
