Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Technical Writer to develop compelling proposal content that supports Quantum Space's growth across national security, civil, and commercial space markets. In this role, you will lead proposal messaging, content strategy, narrative development, and win theme creation while collaborating closely with capture managers, engineers, program managers, subject matter experts, and executive leadership teams.
You will play a critical role in helping Quantum Space win highly competitive opportunities by translating complex technical solutions into persuasive, customer-focused proposal content. This position is ideal for a skilled communicator who combines strong proposal development expertise with the ability to understand technical concepts, extract key insights from experts, and craft compelling narratives that clearly communicate customer value and mission impact.
Where You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop and refine proposal win themes, discriminators, and strategic messaging
  • Lead proposal content strategy and narrative development activities across strategic pursuits
  • Create proposal outlines, storyboards, and content plans aligned with customer requirements and evaluation criteria
  • Conduct interviews with engineers, program managers, executives, and subject matter experts to gather technical and programmatic information
  • Transform complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive, and customer-focused proposal content
  • Develop executive summaries, management approaches, technical narratives, and key proposal sections
  • Ensure proposal content is compliant, compelling, and aligned with customer priorities and evaluation factors
  • Collaborate closely with capture managers and business development leaders to align messaging with overall pursuit strategies
  • Support proposal reviews and incorporate feedback from color teams, executives, and technical contributors
  • Coach and mentor proposal writers and contributors to improve content quality, consistency, and effectiveness
  • Maintain proposal content libraries, messaging frameworks, templates, and best practices
  • Support multiple concurrent proposal efforts in a fast-paced environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen proposal development processes and win probability

What It Takes
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience developing winning federal proposal content
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into persuasive proposal messaging
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Civil Space, or related government pursuits
  • Strong interviewing, writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience developing proposal win themes, executive summaries, and strategic messaging
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven proposal environment

Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience supporting pursuits with U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Development Agency (SDA), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), NASA, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), or the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
  • Familiarity with spacecraft development, satellite operations, launch systems, mission integration, or related aerospace programs
  • APMP Certification (Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional)
  • Experience supporting proposals valued at $50M to $500M+
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, intelligence, or advanced technology organizations
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes and competitive proposal environments
  • Experience developing proposal content strategies for highly technical solutions and mission-focused programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and proposal development tools

Base Salary: $125,000 - $175,000
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Quantum Space's total compensation package.
