Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic RN leader to serve as the Director of PreOp, PACU & Endoscopy Services. This role is responsible for the operational, clinical, and strategic oversight of Pre-Op, PACU, and GI/Endoscopy departments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations. The Director will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, staffing, workflow, and departmental performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong perioperative and procedural services leadership experience, excellent communication and team development skills, and a proven ability to manage clinical operations, budgets, quality initiatives, and staff engagement. Candidates must hold a current Florida RN license, BLS certification, and have a minimum of seven years of healthcare management experience within surgical, perioperative, or endoscopy services. BSN required; Master's degree preferred.Position Responsibilities
  • Directs the medical center's OR Services to provide top quality care. Oversees and manages daily operations in the OR.
  • Maximizes and upgrades the medical center's OR Services through short and long term strategic plans.
  • Directs standards relating to patient care policies and procedures. Reviews OR policies, procedures and practices. Stays abreast of new clinical trends and developments.
  • Determines staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage. Monitors staffing patterns on a weekly basis to improve and maximize staff utilization and coverage of acuity needs.
  • Supervises the preparation and maintenance of the OR patient clinical records, and complies reports on operating room staff.
  • Reports on OR medical services rendered, as required.
  • Promotes and ensures compliance to the Medical Center, JCAHO, federal, state and local regulations and requirements. Ensures the department staff and management teams comply with mandatory policies and procedures at all times.
  • Collaborates with Surgeons in the coordination of highest patient care delivery.
  • Ensures inventory standards for medicines, solutions, supplies and equipment. Accounts for narcotics.
  • Provides leadership in complex situations, counsels staff and / or physicians based on factual and objective information. Ensures timely and appropriate actions for resolution.
  • Acts as an agent in identifying performance improvement initiatives for the OR. Facilitates the initiation of performance improvement plans and monitors the progress and outcomes.
  • Plans and administers the medical center's OR clinical budget. Reviews monthly / annual financial statistics and plans expenditures according to budget provisions.
  • Makes patient rounds to monitor quality of care and to serve as a resource person for the staff, patients, physicians and visitors.
  • Acts as a main communication channel between the staff, management, physicians and administration.
  • Provides managerial support to the database information system maintaining a working knowledge of the overall system, clinical data input, generation of reports, troubleshooting and application of policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the recruiting and marketing efforts to hire top quality candidates.
  • Promotes communication and team efforts among the different nursing units. Conducts managements and staff meetings on a permanent basis.
  • Builds opportunities for staff's professional growth and development. Motivates top performers on the development of their skills and abilities for future challenges within the organization.
Qualifications
  • License/Registration/Certification
    • Current RN license in the state of Florida. Current BLS. National Professional Organization Certification (CNOR) preferred.
  • Education
    • Registered Nurse, BSN, Master's in Healthcare Administration disciplines preferred.
  • Experience
    • Extensive clinical OR experience and seven + years experience in Health Care Management.
