Job description

Overview

NaphCare is seeking to hire an experienced Clinical Services Director - Business Development to join our Sales team at the Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL.

The Clinical Services Director, serves as the clinical bridge between NaphCare and prospective correctional healthcare partners - including county jails, state departments of corrections, and federal facilities. This role works directly with a potential partner's operations and clinical leadership to identify patient care challenges and to connect those challenges to NaphCare's clinical services and TechCare capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the primary clinical point of contact for prospective correctional partners, building relationships with DOC and county leadership - including Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Sheriffs, and Jail Administrators - as well as Health Services Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Medical Directors, and facility operations leadership.
  • Meets directly with prospective partners to understand concerns with their existing healthcare vendor, identify gaps in service delivery, and develop a clear, actionable plan for resolution.
  • Translates identified patient care issues into NaphCare clinical solutions, drawing on NaphCare's service lines and TechCare EMR capabilities to address the partner's specific needs.
  • Partners with NaphCare Clinical Operations and TechCare teams to develop and present proposed solutions, including workflow changes, staffing models, and technology-enabled care improvements.
  • Supports the Business Development team throughout the sales cycle by providing clinical subject-matter expertise in meetings, site visits, presentations, and proposals - ensuring the client's stated needs and concerns are directly addressed in the proposed solution, and speaking credibly to clinical staff and leadership as a nurse with corrections experience.
Qualifications
  • Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
  • Prior clinical experience in a correctional healthcare setting (jail, prison, or DOC facility) required.
  • Direct experience with TechCare EMR preferred
  • Strong understanding of correctional healthcare operations, patient care delivery, and applicable standards (NCCHC, ACA).
  • Comfortable engaging with both clinical and operations leadership
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel, estimated at 30%

Physical Capabilities:

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
