Job Description
Work is usually on wet utility projects or wastewater/water treatment plants. All work is in a construction-type setting.
The laborer will transfer and work on multiple tasks each day, and having various skillsets is necessary. The laborer will receive assignments from the supervisor and need to be able to perform without close supervision.
Main Responsibilities:
The Laborer position will include but is not limited to the following duties.
• Be able to understand and work within company safety policies and procedures.
• Frequently use a variety of different hand tools.
• Perform manual labor to grade, level, and lift.
• Measure distances set stakes and pull tape measure.
• Mix concrete and perform essential brick/mason work.
• Operate basic power tools.
• Signal equipment operators as needed to align pipe or adjust machinery to grade.
• Mix concrete; smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete.
• Ability to nail, cut, bolt, or join different types of material together.
Qualifications
Essential job functions are listed below and may be necessary on a project-specific or supervisor basis.
Ability to read and understand technical procedures and specifications, operating, installation, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures.
Effectively communicate with fellow employees, supervisors and, inspectors as needed.
Able to follow verbal and written directions.
Understand drawings and diagrams.
Understand ad follow company safety policies.
(1) One-year experience minimum
Be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and, on occasion, up to 100 pounds.
Work outdoors in adverse conditions.
Walk, crouch, stand, crawl, bend over frequently.
Have a good vision and depth perception at close and long distances.
