Job Summary:
United Coatings invites applications for the full-time positions of experienced Powder Coaters to become integral members of our Industrial Coatings team based in Sedro Woolley, Washington. We are seeking individuals who prioritize safety above all and possess substantial experience in industrial coating processes. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of industrial coatings.


*Please note - the first 60-90 days of employment will be through a temp agency. Upon succesful completion of this period, United Coatings will offer you a permanent full-time position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply various types of coatings and linings to industrial surfaces, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform surface preparation techniques such as sandblasting.
  • Inspect and evaluate the condition of industrial surfaces before and after coating applications.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations during all coating operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the coatings team.
  • Use hand and power tools to clean and prep steel.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation on coating processes and inspections.
  • Read and understand work orders and project task codes.
  • Keep accurate records of materials used, work performed, and time spent on projects.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to understand project requirements and provide expert advice on coating solutions.
  • Conduct training sessions for junior staff on coating techniques and safety protocols.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial coatings.
  • NACE CIP Level 3 Certification (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of coating materials, application techniques, and surface preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to coatings and environmental safety.
  • Previous construction, manufacturing, or mechanical experience.
  • Previous experience as an industrial painter or in a related field.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and provide effective solutions.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, Squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.
