Responsibilities and Duties

WHO/WHAT: YOUR MORNINGS ARE YOURS. YOUR AFTERNOONS ARE FOR ADVENTURE.

Looking for a part-time nanny role with consistent weekday hours, great pay, and no early mornings? This warm Wexford family is searching for someone wonderful to take over the after-school shift for their bright, curious 7-year-old daughter.

The heart of the role is simple: school pick-up, a snack, and making the most of the afternoon. Some days might mean heading straight to the park to climb, run, and burn off some energy. Others might call for an ice cream stop, an outdoor adventure, creative play at home, or a quieter afternoon to recharge after school.

The family is looking for someone who understands that kids don’t always walk out of school ready to seamlessly transition into the rest of their day. You’ll bring a calm, steady presence, using routines, choices, gentle redirection, and plenty of playfulness to help afternoons feel easy and enjoyable.

The core schedule is Monday–Friday from 3–6 pm, but there’s room to build this into a 15–20 hour/week position. Want a few more hours? Come at 2 pm and knock out some household tasks before pick-up, or stay until 7 pm and lend a hand with dinner and the evening transition. There are also opportunities for additional hours during school breaks, teacher in-service days, summer, and the occasional date night if you’re interested.

When you’re helping around the house, responsibilities may include family laundry, vacuuming/sweeping, light dinner prep, and helping care for the family’s two cats.

THE IDEAL NANNY IS…HER AFTER-SCHOOL PERSON! You’re that wonderful mix of calm grown-up and enthusiastic sidekick. You can hold a boundary without making everything a battle, but you’re also completely willing to race across the playground, invent a game, or agree that stopping for ice cream is sometimes an excellent afternoon plan.

You’re dependable, organized, and comfortable taking the lead. You enjoy being outside and genuinely like spending time with school-age kids—not just supervising them, but talking with them, listening to their stories, following their interests, and helping make ordinary afternoons fun.

A safe driving record is important, and the family is happy to provide a vehicle for outings and school pick-up.

Most of all, this multicultural family is looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their weekday rhythm—someone their daughter is genuinely excited to see waiting at pick-up each afternoon.

If a well-paid, consistent Monday–Friday role that leaves your mornings and evenings free sounds like your sweet spot, we’d love to meet you!
