Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodial Staff member at the YMCA. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all members and visitors by maintaining public spaces, bathrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.

  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas.

  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue in bathrooms and locker rooms.

  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.

  • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of public spaces, including hallways, common areas, and entrances.

  • Promptly address spills, messes, and other immediate cleaning needs to maintain a safe environment.

  • Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs or unclogging drains).

  • Report any damages, necessary repairs, or safety hazards to the supervisor.

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and protocols.


Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment.

  • Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
