Job description

Director, Data Analytics & Automation

Location: Los Angeles

Reports To: VP, Data Analytics & Automation

About the Team

Warner Chappell Global Strategic Integration and Operations team focuses on driving and embedding global business strategy. The Data Analytics & Automation team sits at the intersection of business strategy, data products, analytics, and operational automation, partnering across core domains, regional teams, and global leadership to turn complex business questions into reliable reporting, scalable data models, workflow tools, and automation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary data and automation team of analysts and automation specialists, managing, mentoring, and developing talent while fostering a culture of partnership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Own and advance the strategic roadmap for analytics and automation, partnering with senior stakeholders to define priorities across data products, workflow automation, platform modernization, AI‑enabled development, and self‑service reporting.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into practical, scalable solutions, overseeing design, development, testing, deployment, and adoption of reusable dbt models, governed Snowflake assets, scheduled Dagster jobs, Streamlit applications, Airtable workflows, dashboards, and recurring reporting products.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, code review, documentation, access control, scheduling, quality checks, stakeholder handoff, AI‑assisted development, and production support.
  • Guide high‑impact analytical initiatives that support business‑critical decisions, operational improvements, revenue opportunities, rights and repertoire strategy, financial visibility, and scalable reporting across Warner Chappell’s core business.
  • Champion automation and AI‑enabled workflows, identifying opportunities to accelerate delivery, reduce manual operational burden, and prototype responsibly.
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships as a trusted liaison between business teams, technology partners, data platform stakeholders, and regional leaders to align solutions with priorities and architecture.
  • Communicate impact to leadership through regular reporting on roadmap progress, delivery health, adoption, risk, operational improvements, and measurable business impact.
  • Develop future leaders by coaching staff on stakeholder management, technical judgment, prioritization, delivery discipline, and the transition of repeat requests into scalable team assets.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience leading data, analytics, automation, BI, or process improvement teams with hands‑on technical fluency in Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Python, Streamlit, Airtable or equivalent workflow platforms, and AI‑assisted development tools.
  • Strong business‑first data product mindset: ability to design trusted tools and data assets that improve decisions, reduce manual work, and scale with the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end delivery from ambiguous request through design, development, testing, deployment, adoption, documentation, and support, with measurable outcomes.
  • Effective stakeholder influence skills, communicating complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and shaping prioritization.
  • People management skills: coaching, delegating, reviewing work, managing performance, creating growth opportunities, and building trust in distributed teams.
  • Strategic thinking and change‑management orientation, guiding teams toward modern tools, processes, and ways of working while staying grounded in business realities.
  • Analytical and pragmatic decision‑making in imperfect data, legacy systems, and competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Preferred: experience with AI‑enabled development, cloud‑native data platforms, and enterprise governance frameworks.
Salary

Salary Range: $110,000 – $125,000 annually.
