Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our legal practice.

Position Overview

Provide administrative and clerical support across a variety of legal matters. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing deadlines, court filings, and case-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Assist with drafting and filing litigation documents (including e-filing)
  • Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic)
  • Schedule client meetings, court dates, and deadlines
  • Track deadlines, court dates, and litigation calendars
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties
  • Assist with filing documents (including e-filing when applicable)
  • Conduct basic legal research as needed
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as answering phones and managing calendars

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a legal or administrative role preferred
  • Litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
