Description:

General Purpose of the Position: The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Engineering Technician are to install, maintain, and repair the assets and facilities of Mundet Inc. to ensure productivity in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and maintain proper training instructions pertaining to all OSHA standards, regulatory/company health and safety rules, lock out/tag out, confined space, hazard communications, hazardous waste, other required training procedures, and GMP/BRC housekeeping standards.


Safety

· Comply with all plant safety policies.

· Ensure all electrical work is completed according to OSHA and NEC regulations.

· Improve equipment safety related to guarding and LOTO.

· Always maintain a clean and safe production line or work area.

· Adhere to all BRC and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes).


Maintenance

· Complete maintenance work orders for equipment and project work.

· Perform debug and repair when electrical/electronic issues arise with process equipment.

· Maintain software and drawing back-ups within the “Equipment” server files (with assistance)

· Work with entire production team to ensure efficient and useable equipment.

· Assist with research and recommend replacement spare parts when parts need sourcing.


Project Support

· Establish automation changes to reduce downtime and improve equipment recovery time (i.e. error messages, clear HMI screens, audible and visual cues).

· Recommend and assist in development and execution of effective set-up and maintenance procedures.

· Support engineering with CAPEX projects, equipment installations, electrical panel builds, equipment improvements, and automation builds.

· Collaborate with engineering department to reduce facility energy use.

· Perform major overhauls (with assistance) of PLC/HMI/Drive systems.


Requirements:

Experience and Skill Requirements:

· Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience with programmable logic controllers and equipment controls.

· Experience with control communication protocol and machine networking including laptop connection for troubleshooting.

· PLC and HMI debug and repair.

· AC/DC drive and control system debug and repair

· Electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system debug and repair.

· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

· Must be able to work independently and function effectively with minimal supervision.

· Ability to manage tasks, adhere to schedules, and organize effectively.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, vendors, and management.

· Possess skills to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of employees and management.

· Ability to operate lift/fork trucks, hand trucks, and any other equipment designed for maneuvering materials through production facility.

· Knowledge of ISO and BRC procedures is preferred.

· Knowledge of NEC and OSHA guidelines related to safety.

· Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.

· Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or computer-based work order and preventative maintenance software.

· All other tasks or duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.


Physical Requirements:

· Apply up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.

· Move and lift objects up to 50 lbs. with constant force vertically and/or horizontally.

· Use 20 lbs. of force frequently.

· Ability to stand with often movement to reach, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, and twist.

· Work requires the ability to load, unload, and package products.

· Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.

· Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.

· Mandatory use of PPE.

· Work is performed in a manufacturing facility and office environment. These include areas near operating equipment and chemical usage; in accordance with our safety program, all employees receive informative training on chemicals and equipment used within the plant.


Education Requirements:

· High School diploma or GED equivalent.

· 2-year degree or technical certificate is preferred.

· Skilled trade, industrial maintenance, or engineering background is a plus.
