Job description

HealthPartners is hiring an Epic Analyst - Healthy Planet & Value Based Care. The Epic Healthy Planet & Value-Based Care Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Healthy Planet and related population health applications. This role partners closely with clinical, operational, payer, and value-based care stakeholders to develop solutions that improve patient outcomes, advance quality initiatives, and support organizational value-based care strategies.

This analyst serves as a subject matter expert in population health workflows, including registries, care gap management, risk adjustment, quality reporting, and value-based care programs. Key responsibilities include translating business requirements into effective Epic solutions, leading testing, and implementation activities, troubleshooting system issues, and driving continuous optimization to enhance performance and user experience.

This position reports to the Manager of IT Care Delivery Applications and is part of a collaborative team of twelve analysts with a range of experience and expertise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Three (3) years of experience in backend IT analysis and technical design 
  • One (1) year of experience coding, testing, and implementing program changes. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of healthcare/ health plan experience
  • Epic Healthy Planet experience and/or certification, accreditation, or proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Cache (or similar database platforms), including the ability to understand and navigate Cache routines. Prior experience with MUMPS programming is also preferred.
  • Experience supporting population health or value-based care programs. 
  • Experience with quality measures, HEDIS, risk adjustment, CMS programs, or payer initiatives. 
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, or registry reporting. 
  • Experience working with care management, care gap, outreach, or chronic disease management workflows. 
  • Healthcare provider, payer, or accountable care organization experience.

Hours/Location:

  • M-F; core business hours.
  • This role is primarily remote, with an occasional on-site presence required for team meetings, system upgrades, project go-lives, and Epic-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, test, implement, and support Epic Healthy Planet and related applications. 
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to understand population health and value-based care requirements. 
  • Build and maintain registries, work queues, outreach workflows, care management tools, and reporting solutions. 
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, care gap closure programs, risk adjustment efforts, and payer-driven programs. 
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into Epic system designs and technical specifications. 
  • Perform system configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities. 
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution across teams and vendors. 
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, optimization, and upgrade activities. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation, workflow diagrams, and support materials. 
  • Support auditing, compliance, and regulatory reporting activities as needed. 
  • Provide on-call support with the EpicCare Ambulatory team.
