Job description

The Role

As the Lead Associate, Video Editor, you’ll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will share real, emotional stories with the world. We need a Lead Associate with expertise in video editing and visual storytelling to join our tight-knit team of multimedia professionals. Experience with motion design is a plus and will help elevate content through engaging graphics, branded visual systems and dynamic storytelling techniques. You will bring fresh ideas to the table and push projects from good to great by being creative, innovative and willing to break the barriers of common video editing tactics to make our content fresh, fun and relevant. You will work directly with our Senior Creative Director and Associate Creative Director of Multimedia.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

*not inclusive of all role responsibilities. May be subject to change
  • Post-Production (70%):
    • Develop dynamic, branded, visually compelling materials that support agency wide initiatives for a wide variety of mediums, using assets collected by the global colleagues, the brand marketing team, various stakeholders and outside vendors.
  • Creative Contributor and Multimedia Trends (30%):
    • Work in partnership with key agency wide stakeholders, Director of Content, Executive Creative Director and digital web production teams to conceptualize, create and deliver on integrated local and global marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Working with a team, solve for challenges in any environment and present new ways to innovate our approach to video production and storytelling.  
  • Stay current on emerging digital and mobile trends for video consumption online and communicate them to the larger marketing team as they pertain to our work, processes and priorities.

Required qualifications for the role

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Professional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition
  • Demonstrated experience with file compression, video codecs, broadcast specifications, and optimization techniques
  • Proven knowledge of editing for different visual styles, motion graphics, branding, typography, color theory, and audio production
  • Demonstrated experience using images to tell a story or illustrate a concept
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organization, with a proven ability to optimize workflow to remain efficient as business needs scale up
  • Portfolio or demo reel required, showcasing exceptional video editing, storytelling, creative problem solving, and visual communication skills; examples of motion design work are welcomed but not required
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

        Preferred qualifications for the role

        • Proactive problem solving, both technically and creatively, with attention to process improvement
        • Calm under pressure, can excel in fast-paced project timeframes, re-adjustment of priorities, and just-in-time assignments
        • Proficiency in Adobe Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator
        • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion design and graphic animation is preferred 

        Compensation

        Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

        • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $72,250 - $80,750 base salary
        • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $65,450 - $73,150 base salary
        • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $59,500 - $66,500 base salary  

          The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
