Job Summary
The CHEM 1211K Open Educational Resources Project is seeking a creative and technically skilled film or media student to assist with producing high-quality instructional videos for the Affordable Learning Georgia grant project, Chemistry Unlocked: Interactive Problem-Solving with OpenStax. The student in this position will support video editing, post-production, and visual organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a film or media student to build their portfolio, gain hands-on production experience, and contribute to a project with impact across the University System of Georgia.
Responsibilities

• Edit recorded instructional videos using video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro or PowerDirector).
• Add visual elements such as titles, transitions, overlays, and highlighting for clarity and engagement.
• Ensure all video files are clean, accessible, well-formatted, and consistent in style.
• Compress, export, and organize final video files for website upload.
• Assist with improving audio quality, lighting, and visual clarity as needed.
• Maintain organized project folders, drafts, and version-controlled files.
• Communicate progress and meet deadlines as outlined in the grant timeline.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.
• Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
• Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
• Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to apply judgment and discretion in performing confidential personnel matters.
• Ability to be highly organized, attentive to details, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Film, Media Arts, Communication, or Digital Media major or interest.
• Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple video tasks.
• Basic knowledge of audio mixing or sound cleanup is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and interest in instructional design or educational media.
