Summary
The Instructional Multimedia Technician will work closely with Instructional Multimedia Specialist to produce engaging, video-based learning content as part of online, hybrid, or training course development. This position will work closely with the instructional design team, maintaining an adaptable yet accountable media production workflow, and providing course media support as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Multimedia team to plan, design, and produce instructional media and video-based learning content.

  • Support the Instructional Multimedia Specialist in managing the Instructional Recording Studio, including oversight of equipment, assets, and distribution processes.

  • Maintain regular communication with the instructional design team to provide updates on project progress and timelines.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain video recording equipment, including studio lighting and audio systems.

  • Assist in creating compelling video narratives by filming and editing engaging multimedia content.

  • Contribute to the development of training materials that guide users in utilizing the Instructional Studio effectively.

  • Ensure all video content is uploaded to appropriate repositories and shared with the instructional design team.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to multimedia production.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
  • Experienced with:

  1. Editing - Preferred editing with demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects) and TechSmith Camtasia.

  1. Equipment - Preferred field and studio production setup and operation including professional lighting, camera, and sound equipment.

  • Collaboration - demonstrated ability to collaborate with people from a wide variety of skill sets and backgrounds via written or oral communication

  • Flexibility and Adaptability - Ability to work quickly, effectively, and flexibly in a deadline driven environment
  • Skilled in multimedia creation, including audio, video, and graphic design-on both PC and Mac platforms.
  • Proficient in graphic design or video production, with a creative eye and technical know-how.
  • Experienced in using a variety of technology tools to support and enhance teaching and learning in innovative ways.
  • Strong communicator with excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for a range of audiences.
