Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ensure that all HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are communicated, understood, and followed

Photography & Videography (70%)

  • Capture high-quality photo and video content across the shipyard, including:
    • Production activity
    • Workforce and employee features
    • Events, tours, and leadership engagements
  • Plan and execute shoots, including shot lists, staging, and coordination with internal teams
  • Operate and maintain camera, lighting, and audio equipment
  • Operate drone equipment to capture aerial photography and videography safely and in compliance with FAA regulations and HPSI requirements
    • Candidates without existing certification must be willing to study for and obtain the required drone certification, with eligible certification costs reimbursed by HPSI
  • Ensure all content aligns with safety protocols and operational requirements
  • Perform other related duties as related and assigned

Video Production & Editing (25%)

  • Edit and produce video content for:
    • Social media
    • Internal communications
    • Recruiting and workforce development initiatives
  • Incorporate music, graphics, captions, and branding elements
  • Deliver content in multiple formats optimized for various platforms
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

 

 

Ad Hoc Communications Support (5%)

  • Partner with the Digital Communications Specialist to provide visual assets for social media and communications
  • Provide recommendations on visual storytelling opportunities
  • Provide general communications support as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

 

EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Film, Media Production, or a related field
  • 1–5 years of experience in multimedia
  • Strong photo and video editing skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
  • Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling techniques
  • Prior drone experience and/or FAA certification is a plus
  • Experience supporting event audio/visual needs, including microphones, speakers, televisions/displays, presentation equipment, and related technology, is a plus
  • Willingness to support occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend events (at least once a month)
  • Strong grasp of logistics and communication workflows

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.  Work may be executed indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.
