The Multimedia Specialist is a creative position responsible for communicating the LSU System brand and the Office of the President's vision and initiatives. Producing high-impact visual and digital conten, this role uses the power of photography, videography, and graphic design to promote and amplify the LSU System brand across social media and traditional platforms. The specialist ensures every piece of content-reflects the standard of excellence established by the President's Office. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for event coverage.

Job Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Production: Participate in the conceptualization, filming, and post-production of high-quality video content, including scripting, and editing. Capture still photography of presidential events, campuses and student life for use in digital media. -40%


Visual Design & Branding: Develop compelling graphic layouts for digital signage and social media in adherence to the LSU Visual Identity Program. Produce motion graphics and illustrations to enhance storytelling. 25%

Social Media & Digital Strategy: Collaborate with the communication team to manage social media channels, developing a consistent content calendar and responding to community engagement. -20%


General Communications & Office Duties: Maintain and organize an archive of digital assets for long-term use. Assist with general office communications, including media relations, event support, and equipment maintenance. Other duties as assigned. -15%

Additional Requirements:

This position may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.

This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mass communication, digital media, graphic design, or a related field. Zero to three years of experience in videography, photography, or multimedia design. Proficiency in Canva as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) and social media management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within a higher education or complex institutional brand environment.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while remaining positive.
