Position Overview
The Senior Graphic Designer serves as the Colleges lead creative professional and is responsible
for developing high-quality visual communications that advance Talladega Colleges mission,
strategic priorities, and institutional brand. Reporting to the Director of Communications and
Marketing, this position provides creative leadership for the design, production, and
implementation of print, digital, multimedia, and environmental graphics that support
recruitment, institutional advancement, enrollment management, academic affairs, athletics,
student engagement, alumni relations, and presidential initiatives.
The Senior Graphic Designer collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and
external vendors to create compelling visual communications that enhance the Colleges
reputation and ensure brand consistency across all platforms. The position serves as a brand
ambassador by maintaining the integrity of the Colleges visual identity while utilizing
innovative design strategies, emerging technologies, and multimedia storytelling to engage
diverse audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creative Strategy, Brand Management, and Marketing
 Design and develop creative concepts that support Talladega Colleges strategic
marketing and communications initiatives.
 Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing to develop and execute
integrated marketing campaigns supporting admissions, enrollment management,
institutional advancement, alumni engagement, athletics, academic affairs, student affairs,
and major institutional initiatives.
 Produce high-quality print and digital communications including brochures, annual
reports, magazines, newsletters, invitations, advertisements, presentations, digital
publications, environmental graphics, signage, event collateral, and promotional
materials.
 Ensure consistency with the Colleges visual identity standards, including typography,
color palettes, photography, logos, templates, and graphic elements.
 Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Colleges Brand Standards
Guide and visual identity system.
 Recommend innovative creative strategies that strengthen institutional visibility, support
enrollment and fundraising goals, and enhance the Colleges reputation.
Digital Design, Multimedia, and Creative Content
 Design graphics and digital assets for the College website, email marketing, social media,
digital advertising, presentations, and other online communications.
 Develop multimedia content, including motion graphics, animations, infographics, digital
illustrations, interactive content, and short-form videos that support institutional
storytelling.
 Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva Pro, and other emerging creative technologies to
develop engaging visual communications.
 Capture and edit photography and videography for campus events, student life,
academics, athletics, alumni engagement, and institutional marketing initiatives.
 Maintain and organize the Colleges digital asset management system, including
photography, graphics, logos, templates, brand assets, videos, and archived creative
materials.
 Stay current with emerging design trends, AI-assisted creative tools, accessibility
standards, and best practices in higher education marketing and communications.
Creative Project Leadership, Production, and Analytics
 Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously from concept through final production
while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
 Meet with campus clients to define project goals, target audiences, scope, timelines,
budgets, and deliverables.
 Coordinate print production, including file preparation, proofing, color management,
vendor communications, production oversight, and delivery.
 Manage relationships with printers, promotional product vendors, photographers,
videographers, and other external creative partners.
 Maintain project schedules, production workflows, and creative documentation while
identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
 Utilize data and analytics from digital platforms, website traffic, email marketing, and
social media channels to evaluate the effectiveness of creative campaigns and recommend
improvements that increase audience engagement, strengthen brand awareness, and
support institutional goals.
 Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations based on engagement
metrics, user behavior, and marketing outcomes.
 Support major College events, including Convocation, Commencement, Homecoming,
Founders Day, Alumni Reunion, fundraising campaigns, presidential events, and other
institutional initiatives.
 Serve as a collaborative creative resource by providing design consultation and visual
communication solutions to faculty, staff, and administrators.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
 Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, digital media, fine arts,
marketing, communications, or a closely related field.
 Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional graphic design
experience.
 Demonstrated expertise using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator,
InDesign, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
 Demonstrated proficiency using Canva Pro and Microsoft Office 365.
 Experience designing for both print and digital media.
 Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, brand development, and integrated
marketing campaigns.
 Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
 Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
