Position Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a highly experienced Multimedia Developer to support Army University Press (AUP) publications across digital platforms. This role creates original visual, audio, video, animation, and web-based products that complement books, documentary films, staff rides, magazines, and journals.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual storytelling and technical production skills with the flexibility to create artistic works in varied styles, tones, and concepts while meeting publication, copyright, format, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, design, develop, revise, and publish multimedia products supporting AUP publications
  • Create original drawings, static and animated maps, infographics, audio clips, videos, teasers, trailers, models, and imagery
  • Develop approximately two to three multimedia products per month, or 24–36 products per performance year
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Audition, and Adobe Dreamweaver to prepare publication-ready media
  • Adapt artistic style, tone, and concept to meet the needs of varied AUP audiences and publishing efforts
  • Locate and evaluate public-domain or licensed media and maintain copyright permissions and source records
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products are accurate, error-free, properly formatted, and suitable for intended platforms
  • Coordinate with editors, graphic developers, AUP staff, and Government reviewers and incorporate feedback
  • Support weekly and monthly production reporting and Government coordination
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in graphic design, fine arts, multimedia, or a closely related field
  • Five to ten years of professional experience preparing multimedia assets for publication
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Demonstrated ability to create artistic work in varied styles, tones, and concepts
  • Experience producing and optimizing audio, video, animation, graphics, and web-based multimedia
  • Knowledge of copyright, licensing, public-domain research, and media source documentation
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 1 suitability determination
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating multimedia for military, historical, educational, academic, or Government audiences
  • Experience developing animated maps, documentary teasers or trailers, and publication-supporting web content
  • Working knowledge of accessibility practices for audio, video, and web content
  • Experience supporting Army University Press or a comparable publishing organization
