Job description

SUMMARY
This is a fast paced environment position requiring excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to organize and prioritize. The primary function will be the coordination and delivery of component parts necessary to sustain production operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Organize and maintain Grocery Store components; verify and ensure the accuracy of all inventory; including accurate part identification labels & quantities
  • Report immediately any quantity discrepancies to Logistics Supervisor and or Supply Chain Manager for necessary adjustments/corrections
  • Prepare pallets for Tugger Carts with the required number of components for delivery to point of use at plant work centers; using correct type of pallets, totes, bins, containers, racks, lids, etc.
  • Remove any and all empty totes, bins, containers, racks, lids, etc. from point of use racks at the work centers and return to Grocery Store for replenishment
  • As necessary, unload component containers from Tugger Carts and load onto work center racks ensuring sufficient quantities are available to avoid any disruptions at point of use operations
  • Assist in year-end physical inventory and other inventory counts as required
  • Must obtain a forklift license able to operate safely and effectively
  • Work in a safe manner at all times
  • Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus
  • Traffic and logistics experience
  • Must speak, read and write fluent English.
  • Self-motivated and work under limited supervision.
  • Possess the ability to work in a very busy environment.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess good grammar and English language skills, being able to deal with all types of people with tact and diplomacy. Must possess ability to read and speak effectively with fellow employees and upper management so as to be able to effectively communicate and comprehend reports/findings and instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do basic mathematical functions accurately such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed verbal & written instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
