Job Description Summary
This position serves as a technical sales lead, supporting both internal and external customers. The role manages open project issues, contributes across the full project lifecycle, and supports new business development and strategic planning. This role requires strong technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and multiple manufacturing groups to ensure seamless project execution and alignment across teams. Product Engineers play a key role in delivering high-quality products and world-class customer service to Multimatic clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Technical engineering lead liaison between OEM and Multimatic divisions.
  • Lead Open Issues meetings with Multimatic manufacturing facilities, OEM customers, Tier-2 suppliers, others as necessary. Publish meeting outcomes, track progress both internally and externally via Open Issues List, minutes, etc.
  • Lead the engineering efforts for new business with OEM, primary support provided from Multimatic manufacturing representatives.
  • Provide (from OEM) necessary information required to develop quote responses, engineering change orders, quality support, timing requirements, prototype build schedules, preproduction build, etc.
  • Lead the development of Technical Review presentations to customers for new business opportunities, ongoing business, and high-level management reviews.
  • Identify and support the pursuit of new business opportunities which satisfy the needs of the company, current and future business.
  • Assist in determining strategic directions for new business opportunities with customers, market segments, products, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited University is required.
  • Automotive Industry experience (7 years) in product design and development at a Tier-1 supplier or equivalent.
  • An understanding of Automotive OEM processes, systems, and products.
  • A solutions-based customer relations approach with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and valid documentation to travel internationally, for customer visits to our technical center for engineering reviews, manufacturing site visits, and launch support activities.
  • Passion, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to demonstrate perseverance/GRIT.

Technical Qualifications
  • Experience with Automotive engineering expertise in structural products, project management experience, design and release engineering.
  • Experience with Automotive processes and systems, and systems.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with design practices in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Experience with engineering disciplines: GD&T, DFMEA, PPAP/PSW, QOS, etc.
  • A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. CAD expertise preferred.

Travel Requirements
This position may require domestic and internation travel up to 10%.
We are a Canadian based employer, and employees must be able to legally travel to Canada for meetings and/or training.

  • The ability to work in an office environment.
  • This may include sitting or standing for the majority of the day.
  • Although infrequent you may need to lift, carry, push, and pull material.
