Job description

ELEMENTARY BILINGUAL TEACHER at Peach Creek Elementary, Splendora, TX 77372
ย 

Job Duties: Teach students at the elementary level in English and Spanish. Prepare and develop lesson plans in English and Spanish aimed at improving students' English language skills and applying knowledge of core academic subjects, in accordance with the district's curriculum program, and provide written evidence of preparation as required. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of assigned students. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations and effectively manage students' behavior and provide meaningful instructions in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Work with non-native English speakers, teach in Spanish, and work with students to improve their English speaking abilities. Communicate naturally without miscommunication, both oral and written, in English and Spanish, with accuracy and fluency, using correct structures, expressions, basic and academic grammar/vocabulary. Instruct students in both English and Spanish and explain difficult concepts in terms students can understand. Enforce classroom rules, communicate with parents, and prepare students for standardized tests and grade papers. Respond patiently to students when they struggle with work material and activities. Develop activities tailored to improving students' ability to learn in a bilingual setting. Assess and evaluate student performance and learning in accordance with specified guidelines and report evaluations to the principal and students' parents. Determine students' special needs and recommend appropriate measures to address them; assess students' learning styles and use the results to plan instructional activities. Collaborate with teacher assistants and special education teachers effectively to determine instructional goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements, as well as to discuss students' needs with parents and administrators.

Requires: A bachelor's degree in any field or its equivalent in the US, and with eligibility to obtain a Texas Probationary/Standard Teaching Certificate in Bilingual Education Supplemental Spanish (EC-6).ย 

Foreign Languages in English and Spanish.
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Starting Salary for Bilingual Teachers: $64,500ย
