Horizon Media, Inc., headquartered in New York City, is the largest independent media services company in the world.We are currentlylooking to hirean Assistant Strategistin our Futures Multiculturaldivision.

Job Summary

The role of the Assistant Strategist is to support the Horizon Futures, Multicultural Team by maintaining a variety of day-to-day projects. This includes gaining an understanding of the media industry and our agency's client roster, while learning the over-arching plan development process and how the Future of Multicultural team interacts with clients, media partners, and activation teams. Under leadership of the Strategist, Assistant Strategist will begin to understand clients' business and how to think strategically and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, clients, partner agencies and media vendors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day account maintenance tasks inclusive of thought leadership resources, vendor communication/management,

  • Support Multicultural Team members with overall plan development, implementation, and maintenance

  • Analyze competitive research to inform strategic planning and implementation

  • Contribute creative media ideas in brainstorming sessions during development process

  • Attend and participate in client and internal meetings, where applicable

  • Distribute meeting recap notes to internal team members summarizing all deliverables and next steps

  • Assist Strategist in management of client and internal projects (i.e. analyzing media briefs, ensuring all strategic direction and timelines are clearly communicated and maintained, development of media partner guides, development of Multicultural handbooks and POVs, etc.)

  • Learn about the various departments at Horizon and how each work together

  • Work with Strategist on research initiatives, utilizing tools and resources that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process (i.e. MRI, Vivvix, Claritas360, etc.)

  • Participate in HMI's Media 101 Training program as well as other syndicated and proprietary training sessions

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related experience

  • Internship experience in marketing or media is preferred

  • Strong problem-solving mentality, work ethic, and verbal and written communication skills

  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable with excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated interest in the media industry with a desire to learn more

  • Basic understanding of number relationships, media math, and terminology

Salary Range

$40,000.00 - $50,000.00

A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
