Job Description
At GALLEGOS United, the Strategy group is a key, respected partner for clients: we help set the agenda and vision for the brands, we bring forth cultural insights to ensure deep relevancy, we ensure creative is not only on strategy but is breakthrough and disruptive, we define the communications principles that guide media choices and we make sure we insert the brand in the most fertile and share worthy conversations.
The Multicultural Strategist will work closely with the Executive Creative Director, Social & Influencer Leads and report into the President. He/She will bring to the table a strong point of view and critical thinking across audience insights, cultural & societal shifts, media trends, creative influences, business dynamics, connection context, and tech innovations that inform strong, channel agnostic strategic recommendations. In addition, he/she has the exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's thought leadership agenda and key strategic initiatives, often collaborating with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
  • A strong command of consumer understanding will be essential in developing insights that enable consumer-first planning across a wide range of audiences, starting with Hispanics & beyond.
  • Skilled at both authoring strategies as well as working off of existing strategies from clients and/or other agencies on clients' roster.
  • Take ownership of the quality of the creative brief and briefing process.
  • Positively impact the creative product through sharp insights and inspiration from culture.
  • Identify conversations to be leveraged or disrupted by the brand.
  • Understand and use qualitative and quantitative research effectively.
  • Understands and addresses key business challenges and proactively seek untapped opportunities that can make a difference in market performance/brand equity.
  • Ensure use, adoption and learning of proprietary strategic tools.
  • Create frameworks and methodologies for approaching major strategic issues, leveraging existing intellectual capital and developing innovative concepts.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of agency experience required.
  • A track record of brilliant thinking that leads to unexpected, truly creative work.
  • Culturally plugged in; nimble, inspired and scrappy gatherer of information.
  • Crisp thinker and communicator - verbally, visually and in writing.
  • Strength of conviction for your thinking, well balanced by an open ear and mind.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities, discerning a clear path forward and acting upon them swiftly
