L3 Unix Admin - AIX
Work Location: Alpharetta, GA (Work from office 2-3 days a week)
FTE- 90K-100K
Key responsibilities:
System Administration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on servers and devices.
  • Monitor system performance, ensure the reliability and availability of systems, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Monitor server performance
Security Management:
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to protect OT systems from cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Manage user access controls and permissions.
Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Provide technical support for Linux systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Respond to incidents and outages, working to resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external support teams as needed.
Automation and Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks and system maintenance.
  • Utilize configuration management tools to streamline system deployments and updates.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with team members and cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration, operation of systems and resolution of incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates on system status.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 7-8 years of hands-on experience and general knowledge of Linux and general Unix operating systems concepts as well as systems administration experience
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand application scaling issues related to problem resolution, algorithm choice.
  • Familiar in multi-factor authentication platforms and solutions, and Identity Management such as OpenID, LDAP, and Kerberos.
  • Security implementations using multi-factor authentication, PKI, or Kerberos and Unix
OS hardening to meet standards.
  • Experience with supporting Apache Web Server
  • Experience with Red Hat Identity Manager
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain documentation on system administration procedures for routine and complex tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach to project delivery.
  • Ability to adjust quickly, adapt to changing priorities and take initiative and own the task.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team and with strong organization skills.
