Job description

Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Department Manager for their Detroit team!



Responsibilities:
  • Work with Project Managers within the organization
  • Create work plans/estimates for department staff assigned projects
  • Ensure work meets QA/QC standards and client expectations
  • Supervise projects/staff
  • Meet performance metrics/goals
  • Prepare proposals and administer project contracts
  • Maintain backlogs/manpower forecasts for proper staffing and department utilization
  • Perform annual reviews and timecards/expense report approvals for staff
  • Assist Human Resources with recruiting and training
  • Participate in various trade organizations
  • Assist with business development



Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 8+ years of mechanical design experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects
  • PE License preferred
  • Working knowledge of Revit
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously



Salary is commensurate with experience.
