Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Material Handler for our client in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail and safe material handling skills to keep production and warehouse operations moving smoothly.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $22-$24/hr
Schedule: Swing Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM.
What You'll Do

  • Review production schedules, bills of material, and job sheets to pull materials needed for daily production jobs.
  • Stage and distribute materials efficiently to support continuous production throughout the shift.
  • Communicate regularly with the Production Supervisor/Shift Lead and operators, both directly and by radio, to coordinate material swaps at multiple production stations, exchanging full containers for empty ones as needed.
  • Use a drum lifter attachment to move chemical drums from plastic pallets to wooden pallets.
  • Operate stretch-wrapping equipment and scanning software to comply with packaging requirements and move products into warehouse storage.
  • Use a desktop computer to locate materials, research inventory issues, and provide daily passdowns to the oncoming shift.
  • Use a barcode scanner to facilitate the electronic movement of product.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of 2 years of material handling experience in an industrial production or warehouse environment, using forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and stretch-wrap machines.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using ERP or inventory management software, along with MS Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to complete employer-provided Hazmat training per DOT 49 CFR 172.704 within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Physical ability to lift/move up to 70 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and work in industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling chemical and hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with Hazmat labeling and the segregation of chemicals by hazard class within a warehouse environment.
